Rather than a 22-, 23-, or 24-race schedule, a 15-16-race lineup would reduce the budget teams would have to develop and manage. That would reduce a team’s ask when it comes to finding sponsors. And, as Dixon mentioned, as well, that might enable the NHRA to secure title sponsors for every race. In this year’s 22-event campaign, exactly 11 races are sponsored and 11 are not

Was on the drag racing forums and this statement was made by Larry Dixon Jr..By reducing the amount of nationals could we attract sponsors outside of BMX?

Yes, sponsorship is a major problem now.

There have been times in the past where BMX has had plenty of outside sponsorship but it didn't last.

Racing has had major sponsor problems for tears and yet look whats happened with Formula One. It caught the zeitgist of the moment and has gone crazy. Companys from all across the spectrum are throwing money at it.

It must be driving Roger Penske crazy.
