I guess we could start with a roll call from the NBA South Pacific Nationals 1977-79. I did my very first race at the 1978 race. Anyone remember Scott Iha?? He was about 13X and holeshotted and lead trophy dash most of the way till being passed by Scott Clark.

Mar 16 2007, 06:32 PM
I am on the hunt for photo's. Glad I started this thread. Should I just use the photo's that I am ahead of llacuna? Ha ha ha. I remember a picture of Rockne beating Mike Poulson in I think "Bicycles and Dirt". I think it was the race at Magic Mountain. This gave all the locals hope to well in the mainland. I know somewhere I have a pic of Thumper and I waxing Vann Johnson. This is gona be fun. I think in that earlier photo next to Kos is local "The Bike Shop" Buddy Ikeda in Goose colors.

Before Thumper and Lumpia, there was another local Hawaiian to move to AZ and make it big?

The Tang/ Poulson photo was in BMX Action.
Coverage of the 1980 NBA Grand Nationals.
I was there and got waxed in 12x.
Todd Parry was there and got a 3rd or 4th in 12 or 13 novice. LOL!

You have no idea what it meant to us here to see that pic. I mean here was one of Hawaii's fastest riders in a picture beating Poulson, and we all thought that Poulson was the man.
